Loading a Wing

For the first time, a 52-foot long C-141A wing panel was airlifted by a 437th MAW StarLifter
from the AVCO Corporation plant at Nashville, Tenn, to Charleston AFB. Men of the 76th
MAS first flew a K-Loader to the on-load site, and delivered the wing to Charleston with
no sweat. The first photo shows the wing panel on the K-Loader, and the second shows the
wing being loaded into the airplane.

If anyone knows WHY it was carrying a wing to Charleston, please let me know!
